Gettysburg Battle! On July 3,1863 the Battle of Gettysburg, is in effect. General Pickett's men are shooting off canons at the Unions. It is very hot and muggy today, the Union soldiers are short of food and ammunition. General Hancock is waiting for the battle to start and he claims that "They are all too hot, and too tired to fight."The Confederate soldiers blow up General Meads headquarters. The blast of the canons is unbelievably loud, and is almost deafening. The soldiers have to duck while the canons are being shot off by the Confederates. You can see the canons are being shot left to right, one right after another. A few Unions are being knocked down by the canons, and some horses too. The Unions start shooting back, they are scrambling to shoot back with the canons and the guns. The Unions are laying down behind a stone wall. Shrapnel is flying all over the place. As the sound of drums fill the air the Confederate soldiers are coming out of the tree line. The rebel flag is being waved in the air. The firing stops then starts again. The sound of drums and yelling are coming closer as you can see thousands of Confederates marching in a line. The firing of canons starts up again and lines of men are being knocked down. Many men lay on the ground both Confederates and Union soldiers. The north are waiting for the south to come up closer to the wall. As the Confederates come closer the Unions start shooting. The smell is awful it smells of blood and gun powder. General Hancock is shot off his horse, he was wounded in the abdomen. They south and north are almost fighting hand in hand. The south is running towards the stone wall, and blasts of mud and bodies are flying in the air. Now they are fighting hand in hand and are stabbing each other with bayonets. Thousands of men are laying dead and wounded on the ground both Confederates and Unions. The Confederates are running over the stone wall and being shot down within minutes. Now more men are laying down over the wall, both dead and wounded. The wounded men are crawling across the field trying to shoot each other. Swords are being picked up by soldiers stabbing each other. The fighting has calmed down and it is decided that the North has won. General Armistead of the South has been wounded and he died. The North has won a triumphant war.
